Hernia is very common and occurs when an internal organ or part protrudes through the wall of muscle in the abdominal cavity between the chest and hips. This happens because muscles could become weak with old age, strains caused by physical exertion, obesity, pregnancy, frequent coughing and exertion due to constipation. Sometimes the weakness could be present from birth.
You could have a hernia if you have
Hernia should be treated early, the earlier you get treatment, the better results will be. A hernia that is not treated early will keep growing and become more painful as time progresses. It could also lead to severe complications such as obstruction or strangulation of hernia that would require emergency surgery.
Treatments offered for hernia
Surgery is the only treatment option for hernia. During surgery the surgeon will set the protruding tissue back in its place. A mesh may be placed to provide additional support and the muscles are stitched back together. We offer both Open surgery and Laparoscopic surgery for hernia repair.
Laparoscopic surgery
This is a minimally invasive surgery. We use special instruments to perform the procedure through small incisions. The wound will heal faster, you will experience very less pain, you will have to stay in the hospital for a very short time and you will be able to get back to normal life faster. There will also be very limited tissue damage as there is no major incision.
If you think you have hernia, then consult our specialists at the earliest to prevent complications and emergencies later.
